The site is broadly rectangular in shape and extends to approximately 2.23 hectares (5.51 acres). The site comprises former medium secure premises providing mental health services that has been vacant for a number of years since the services were moved to a replacement facility. The site is set out across three parts: the main Scott Clinic building and a modular administrative building at the eastern end of the site and the John Parry Centre at the western end of the site, near the current entrance
The site is located at a prominent corner of two important roads with Rainhill: Rainhill Road and Elton Head Road. Attractive stone walls enclose the site and
mature trees sit within the boundary.
The Site benefits from a strategic rural position between Rainhill and Thatto Heath nestled between ancient woodland (adjacent to the eastern boundary of the site) and open agricultural fields.
